It was quite strenuous to kick into the icy crust on the snow. For places where we could not kick into it, we'd need to side step on it, which make it a bit more dangerous because we basically rely on the spikes on our crampons to keep us in place.

Imagine walking side way up a hill, it was quite awkward and tiring. My quadriceps were ready to go on strike. The whole climb on the gully took us about 3 hours, and we took only 2 breaks. What more could I ask for from my mucles.
