There are couple more incidences happened
after we descended the mountain, one of which my stupidity contributed,
and led to John had to give up his much needed rest to help me resolved my
problem, here I sincerely thank you, John, for your generosity and
selfless act. THANK YOU!! The
other include a car accident, which I'm gladly reported to you that all
parties involved are physically un-hurt. All and all, the night dragged
long into dawn, by the time I arrived home to my darling cat and familiar
bed, it was about 5am.
As for Nick, we ran into him and Wendel
while we're un-spotting our cars on the Mt Clinton road. His adventure
ended more or less the same as ours, he made it to The Lakes of the
Clouds, and then conceded to the weather, like all sensible people would.
it had been a long and lousy day, but in the end, we all turned out ok.

After I told my hiking mentor Tom Galvin
the adventure that we had, he recommended me to read "Not Without Peril".
He thought now that I've been up the Presidential Range, I may be able to
identify many of the accident locales... so I did, and he was right, not
only that I can identify the places, the stories also scared me straight.
One that hit me the hardest was the accident happened to MacDonald Barr, right on the summit
of Mt Madison. He was less than 20 min away from the Madison Spring Hut,
but was consumed by the treacherous weather and die on the summit.
